Designed to complement the School of Education & Social Policy undergraduate practicum, this seminar provides an opportunity for self-reflection toward personal and professional growth. At the heart of this course is the idea that, in order to make sense of the world around us, we must embrace positive and negative experiences, equally. Through informal daily memos, creative assignments, and discussions, we reflect on and carefully analyze our experiences in order to identify lessons that may inform our decisions and actions throughout our professional lives. Each moment of surprise and each success reveals new insights about our chosen professional fields. Each hindrance becomes a learning opportunity, the lessons of which affect the kinds of leaders and colleagues we become.
